Bryan's Bees has been doing professional bee removal more safely, affordably, and humanely than pest control since 2012. No job is too big or too small. If we can reach your bees, we can remove them.
Every beekeeper on our staff is a bee removal specialist. We have a rigorous training and testing program that involves beekeeping, construction, and live bee removal. All of our techs are required to train with a mentor for a minimum of six months. This ensures that the bees are removed safely, and that any damage required to access the hive is as minimal, and easy to repair as possible.
We’re the best resource for live bee removal in Santa Barbara County. We safely collect bees without harming them, and take them to our local apiaries where they can live natural and happy lives.
Poisoning hives not only kills one of our most important pollinators, but it also leaves all of the wax, pesticide, and honey behind. This can leave you with a terribly sticky, toxic, and expensive mess that will attract more bees and make your problems worse until it is all removed and dealt with properly.
Pest control companies are often not completely honest about what a bee removal costs. Bryan used to work in pest control, and spraying the bees often costed around $200 to kill the hive, and then around $800 more to clean up the mess they made. This bee removal method eliminates a valuable natural resource, kills innocent insects needlessly, and places hazardous materials into the environment and into your home.
We are bee enthusiasts, and by using our live bee removal service you’re preserving the life of beautiful insects which are critical to our food production and ecosystems. Each bee removal project is completely unique, therefore pricing for our live bee removal service is quoted individually on a custom basis. Colonies of bees grow from a brand new problem into an established problem in as little as one month, and they grow rapidly from there. Removing the bees as soon as possible means less work for the beekeeper, an easier transition for the bees, and lower pricing for you.

When bees begin to look for a new home they do what is called "scouting." When the bees are scouting a cavity, or when they just recently moved in, its often possible to use deterrents to get the bees out of the structure, and seal the cavity once the bees have been removed. We charge $260 for this service.
When the bees reproduce it is called a swarm of bees! The queen takes half the colony, and they travel to a new home. Sometimes she gets tired and stops to rest along the way. When she rests it can be for a few minutes, or a few days. We always recommend if you have a brand new swarm of bees that you leave them alone for three days. If the bees dont leave, or if you are in a hurry, we will remove a swarm for $260
Once a swarm has moved in and had around two or more weeks to settle they will have babies and honey stored away. If you remove the bees without dealing with the babies and honey you will not only create a huge mess, but you are also leaving the old comb behind to attract more bees. The only good way to solve the problem is to physically remove all comb and bees. We charge $300 for a live bee removal from a container (compost bin, birdhouse, etc.) We charge $600 flat for one story work and $1200 for two story work. If we miss, or otherwise mess anything up, the revisits are free. We are not licensed contractors and do not do repairs.
Sometimes opening up structures simply isn't possible. In these cases we do what is called a "trap out." Basically we put a screen cone over the main entrance of the hive, and seal up any other entrances and exits to the colony. After one week we come back to check and see if the bees made any new holes to escape from. Once all holes have been sealed the bees either go into our box, or leave. This process takes several weeks, and sometimes the bees get grumpy. We try to avoid this method whenever possible. We charge $650 flat for this method of removal.
